CONSTITUTION Dominates a Stakes Quality Field

CONSTITUTION, a son of Tapit out of the family of GI winning sire Emcee and GI winner Awesome Humor, has been touting his talent ever since he took his first step on the track as a 2yr old. He has been receiving admiration from the morning spectators on the rail with each weekly work as they watch him skip across the track effortlessly.

In his debut on January 11th, he overcame a slow start out of the gates to rally down on the inside down the back side and finish full of run in front at the wire.

Saturday in his second start, an allowance race with a Stakes-quality field of promising 3-year-olds going 1-1/16th miles, he dominated his adversaries,  drawing away by 3 ¼ lengths and putting him at the top of everyone’s radar for Derby contenders, including his trainer Todd Pletcher.

“He’s certainly very talented,” Pletcher said. “The issue that we have with all of these that are only making their second start and didn’t start until this year, historically, I think we’re trying to buck a trend, but I think we have a horse that’s talented enough to keep moving in the right direction.”
