Niche delivered a thrilling performance Friday night, August 28, capturing the Grade 2, $750,000 Charles Town Oaks in a determined gate-to-wire victory.
Owned by Red White and Blue Racing, LLC and trained by Rob Atras, the three-year-old daughter of Yaupon broke sharply under jockey Dylan Davis and went straight to the lead. After setting the pace throughout the seven-furlong contest, Niche dug in gamely through the stretch to hold off previously undefeated favorite At a Premium and secure her first graded stakes victory.
The Charles Town Oaks win marks Niche’s third victory in her last four starts and boosts her career earnings to more than $555,000.
